MEUC

MEUC Conference Programme 2009
MAJOR ENERGY USERS’ COUNCIL AT THE ENERGY EVENT
Weds 9th September
The chaos confronting large business energy users will be highlighted during the Afternoon Conferences arranged by the Major Energy Users’ Council at the Energy Event on 9 – 10 September.
The main problems concern the refusal by suppliers to quote for electricity and gas contracts because of poor customer credit ratings and the substantial penalties which will be imposed if businesses fail to register for the Carbon Reduction Commitment or monitor their carbon footprint from April 2010.
The MEUC will report on the activities of its Energy Credit Task Force which brings together insurers, suppliers and customers to provide and analyse more up-to-date financial information.
A Winter Outlook session will examine likely prices and security of supply issues.
It will also launch its new Energy Academy which will focus on “Responsible Carbon Management” for buyers, managers and other professionals who need to keep abreast of future legislation.
